Arrowhead’s boys hockey team opened the 2014-15 season last Saturday by losing to Oshkosh at the Oshkosh YMCA, 5-4. The game was the first for new AHS coach John Engel.

Arrowhead fell behind 2-0 in the game and trailed 3-2 after the opening period. Neither team scored in the final period after a high-scoring first two.

Elijah Tormala and Ben Dvorak had goals in the first period, and Jackson Carr and John Sorenson had assists.

AHS scored two more goals in the second stanza when Dvorak and Sorenson scored. Dylan Cox and Caleb Beversdorf assisted on Sorenson’s goal.

“I saw glimpses of success,” Engel said. “We need to be more consistent. At times we played pretty well and other times were made some mistakes. Plus, I think we have to pick up the pace of the game. We had too many turnovers in the neutral zone.”
