December 02, 2014 —
Tuesday night saw the JV and Varsity Boys teams host the Germantown Ice Bears at the Mullett Ice Center for their home opener games and both teams won handily for their first wins of the season.

Up first, the JV Boys dominated the first and second periods outshooting Germantown 30-6 and opening up a 6-1 lead by four goals by Connor Akers with assists from Graber, Macey, Peterson, and Carr and other goals by Kaucic (Sukys) and Bischoff (Trivet, Bugliosi). The Warhawks added one more in the third period from Bischoff (Bugliosi, MacLean) and took the game 7-2 to improve to 1-2-0 on the season. Freshman Greyson MacLean backstopped the JV Boys in the win stopping 14 of 16 Germantown shots.

Next, the Varsity boys hit the ice and continue the Warhawk domination of the Ice Bears. Colin McBride scored twice in the opening period to lead Arrowhead to the locker room up 2-0 at the first intermission. John Sorenson assisted the first goal and Benji Dvorak assisted both goals in the period.

Ben Beversdorf scored for the Warhawks in the second period and the Warhawks entered the final period of the game up 3-0 and outshooting the Ice Bears 25-8.

2 quick goals just :32 apart in the third from Carr (Akers) and Hopkins (Chomniak) extended the lead to 5-0 with ~11:00 to play in the game. Germantown got a goal from Hamilton player Ethan Rentmeester (Fountain) to get on the board in the third but it was all that the Ice Bears could do as they fell to Arrowhead 6-1 after Dvorak scored a late short-handed goal for the Warhawks. Gerlach stopped 11 of 12 Germantown shots as Arrowhead dominated in that category as well, outshooting the Ice Bears 35-12 in the game and moving to 1-1-0 on the season.

Next up for the boys will be three straight Classic 8 Conference games in the next week; Saturday 12/6 sees the boys travel to Greendale, Tuesday 12/9 they will play at KMMO and next Saturday 12/13 they will travel to Kenosha.
