Arrowhead’s varsity girls hockey team didn’t back down on Dec. 12 at home against Bay Area, the top prep girls hockey team in Wisconsin’s state rankings.

Bay Area defeated the Warhawks, 6-0. The score was 2-0 after the end of the first period.

“It was encouraging to be in the game after the first period,” Arrowhead coach Andrew Smith said. “It makes a big difference in how you compete the rest of the game. The girls rose to the challenge, playing with confidence.”

Arrowhead (2-4) got 44 saves from goalie Abbey Weisrock.

“Cameron Nowicki and Ally Noles did an excellent job defending some of the best forwards in the state,” said Smith.

Arrowhead’s best chance to score came from Cameron England.

“Their goalie made a real nice save against Cameron,” said Smith.

On Dec. 19, the Warhawks play at Ozaukee against the Lakeshore Lightning.
